What stays on your device

Your profile, plan settings, answers, review schedule, mistake notebook, phrasebook, writing drafts and any recordings you choose to save are stored in your browser’s IndexedDB storage for tryenglish.com. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.

Microphone

The microphone is used only after you press Record and your browser asks for permission. Recordings stay in the tab’s memory unless you press “Save on this device”. You can delete saved recordings individually or all at once.

Speech features

Listening audio uses a voice installed on your device, and only when the browser reports it as local. Speech recognition is used only through an on-device path that the browser confirms; otherwise it is not used. We never send your voice or text to a speech service.

Hosting and advertising

The site is static files served by a hosting provider, which may keep standard server logs (IP address, page requested) for security. If advertising is enabled in future, it will only appear in content sections, never inside practice tools, and this page will be updated first.

Your control

Export, restore or delete everything from the Offline & privacy page. Clearing site data in your browser also removes it. Local storage is not encrypted and is not a backup.
