Today’s practice plan

Choose 10, 20 or 30 minutes. The plan mixes review, a grammar step, listening or dictation, speaking and — on longer days — reading and writing. Each item says why it is there.

  1. Learn 5 new words · 3 min

Why: No reviews are due today, so this slot introduces new vocabulary.

  2. Grammar: Talking about how long: have been + -ing · 4 min

Why: You have 10 exercises left in this lesson.

  3. Sound contrasts (minimal pairs) · 3 min

Why: Speaking a little every day builds confidence. Self-review works without any speech recognition.

About this page

How the plan is chosen

Reviews that are due come first, because recalling a word just before you forget it is efficient. Then comes the next step in your grammar track, followed by listening or dictation (alternating days) and a short speaking task. With 30 minutes you also read a graded passage and write a few sentences.

If you chose workplace English or interviews as your goal, scenarios replace some listening days.

No streaks, no punishment

Missing a day does not reset anything. If reviews pile up, today’s plan shows only the most overdue ones (up to a daily cap) and tells you how many moved to later days. Days are counted in the time zone you choose, with a 4 a.m. day boundary by default, so travel and daylight-saving changes do not break your history.

Questions

What happens if I miss a week?

Nothing is lost. You see a welcome-back note, the most overdue reviews are spread over the next few days, and your lessons continue where you stopped.

Can I get a reminder?

You can download a calendar file (.ics) with a daily practice event. Browsers cannot reliably wake a website in the background, so we do not promise push alarms.

Why does the plan change every day?

It alternates listening and dictation and rotates speaking tasks so that skills stay balanced. The same day and settings always give the same plan.
